RE: scanning - I had my scanner for 7 years, and I JUST NOW discovered that I can adjust it so that it picks up more of the subtle shades. Go into the scanner software and reduce the "contrast" a little at a time until it is scanning all of those shades you want it to. This really made a difference for me!
Great drawing, perfect pose and expression. You have a terrific style, very fresh and loose line work. I think we all understand how you feel abou scanning and colors, it can be so frustrating! I'm going to try Kate's advice though, in the future.
