Happy Birthday, Cath

A picture for your birthday, Cath. I didn't mean it to really have any relevance to your birthday, to the passing of time, the drifting of days. It just worked out that way. I know I shouldn't blame my tools and materials but the paper I used wasn't my favourite, didn't hold the colour as well, so the result probably isn't as good as it could have been. Just imagine what it could have been!

Dear Pete,
I have had two such special gifts today from two Petes - a dear 70+ y.o. Pete made a speech at my little picnic get-together this morning ("Only 30? In my books, you got a long way to go, mate!"), and now this beautiful gift from you - I've never been given a picture on a blog before! I think it's beautiful. I like the yellowness of the hat. And the quote reminds me of Goethe, that "nothing is more important than this day", and of "Each minute is a precious jewel. This moment will not come again". Thank you Pete, very much! XO Cathy

Sophie says: we had a great time tht Cathy's party in the Roma Street parklands on Sunday. I had my first train ride and Grandad took me for a walk through the forest and around the lake.

Give me the Beach Boys to free my soul and drift away.
